The final iOS 18.2 build 22A3370 was released on December 11, 2024, and as has been the trend, undergone thorough battery life drain performance testing.
iAppleBytes conducted the tests on the iPhone 15, 13, 12, 11, iPhone XR, and the iPhone SE.
All devices ran a fresh install of iOS 18.2. After a 24-hour stabilization period, devices were evaluated under controlled conditions: brightness fixed at 25% and connected to the same network.
Using the Geekbench Battery Test, battery life was analyzed through two modes: Full Discharge, which tracks battery use from 100% to 0%, and Partial Discharge, which measures performance over a shorter duration.
The Full Discharge mode yields the most reliable results, while Partial Discharge provides medium confidence. Scores represent performance and battery efficiency, with higher scores indicating better optimization.
This test offers valuable insights into how iOS 18.2 handles battery life and device performance under intensive usage, helping users make informed decisions about upgrading.
