iOS 18.1 Final Expected Release Date With Apple Intelligence Features

Looking for iOS 18.1 final expected release date with Apple Intelligence features? Here’s what you need to know.

Apple’s iOS 18 is expected to be released within a week or so, but those who want to take Apple Intelligence for a spin are going to have to wait a little longer. The Apple Intelligence features are still being tested for a future iOS 18.1 update, and that’s likely still more than a month away from being released. So when will it be made available to the public?

It’s important to note that the current iOS 18.1 developer beta is still missing some of Apple Intelligence’s key features, not least the ability to use generative AI to create new images and emojis. That should give iPhone owners a good idea as to how far away an official release is, but we can also look to history to see when iOS 18.1 is likely to be released, too.

Looking back through recent years, Apple made its x.1 releases available on the following dates.

  • iOS 15.1 — October 25, 2021
  • iOS 16.1 — October 24, 2022
  • iOS 17.1 — October 25, 2022

With that in mind, we can pretty safely say that iOS 18.1 is likely to be released to iPhone owners around the globe in the final week of October. However, Apple has so far only confirmed that it is aiming for a fall release, so it technically has until the end of November before it needs to get iOS 18.1 out the door.

We may learn more about Apple’s plans when it announces the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro on September 9 with all four new models set to focus heavily on Apple Intelligence and its new features.
