Apple’s release of the first developer beta for iOS 18.1 brought support for Apple Intelligence for the first time, and the subsequent second beta brought with it some tweaks and improvements.

Now, we’re waiting for what will be the third beta version of Apple’s iOS 18.1 iPhone software update, likely with yet more improvements in tow.

Apple has yet to confirm when we should expect the third iOS 18.1 developer beta to be made available for download, but it’s expected that it will release these betas in a two-week timeframe. With that in mind, we would expect Apple to release iOS 18.1 to developers on Monday, August 26. However, Apple will likely switch to a weekly release pattern as we get closer to the final release, too. That’s something the company recently did with iOS 18.0 betas, for example.

If you’re interested in getting iOS 18.1 beta 1 on your iPhone, head over to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates section and then make sure you select iOS 18.1 Developer Beta option.

Once that is done, go back to Settings > General > Software Update section and wait for it to load the OTA update install prompt. Once that option appears, simply tap on “Download and install” button to begin downloading and installing the 18.1 beta software.
