iOS 18.1 Beta 1 Release Date Set For Next Week With Apple Intelligence Features [Report]

If a new report is anything to go by, iOS 18.1 beta 1 release date is set for next week with Apple Intelligence features in tow.

The report comes courtesy of Mark Gurman writing for Bloomberg, stating that Apple will likely delay adding Apple Intelligence features to initial launch of iOS 18, in fact they are likely to make it part of iOS 18.1 release with first beta of 18.1 coming for developers some time next week.

According to same report, Apple will make features like Image Playground and Genmoji available as part of iOS 18.1 release, while some of the other Apple Intelligence features like the new Siri features and ChatGPT integration coming later in Spring next year.

Mark Gurman also notes that the new release strategy for Apple Intelligence indicates the iPhone 16 lineup will likely launch without Apple Intelligence features, which will be added through a later software update. The company is reportedly aiming to complete the development of iOS 18.0 by the end of July.

We will of course let you know as and when Apple releases first developer beta of iOS 18.1 next week. It is still unclear how Apple will manage the distribution of this new beta. Will there be a new iOS 18.1 release track available in Settings.app, or will iOS 18.0 developer betas simply cease to exist? Guess we will find out next week.

Stay tuned for more on this space!
