iOS 18.0.1 Battery Life Drain Tests Are Out, So How Did Things Turn Out?

Apple’s recent iOS 18.0.1 software update brought with it some important bug fixes but this isn’t the one that includes the big Apple Intelligence features we’ve all been waiting for.

That’ll come with iOS 18.1 later this month, but should you install iOS 18.0.1 today? And what if you’re particularly concerned about the impact on battery life?

That’s something that YouTube channel iAppleBytes set out to get to the bottom of by putting a number of iPhones through a Geekbench 4 test to see how things shook out. The results are all available for viewing below, so make sure to watch that content and get an idea of what you should expect after installing iOS 18.0.1. Note that the bug fixes are important ones, so be sure to factor that into your thinking.

To make sure that the tests are as accurate as possible, all of the iPhones were set to 25% display brightness with auto-brightness disabled. All devices were also set to the same identical settings and connected to the same Wi-Fi access point to make sure everything is as accurate as possible.

As for that iOS 18.1 update, a recent report suggests that it will arrive on October 27 so expect another video afterward to confirm just what kind of impact that release has on iPhone battery life, too.
