iOS 18 (RC) Release Candidate Download And Release Date Expectation

Looking for iOS 18 (RC) Release Candidate download and expected release date? Here’s everything you need to know while we wait for Apple to make the update available for download.

When Apple announced the iOS 18 software update during the WWDC opening keynote on June 10, the company immediately released the first developer beta for installation on test devices.

Since then we’ve seen multiple releases made available to developers and members of the public beta program as we edge closer to the expected mid-September launch date for iOS 18. But before that happens, we will see Apple release the Release Candidate version of the update.

The Release Candidate is normally the final beta before an update is made available to the public and while Apple is yet to confirm when the so-called RC update will be released, it’s expected to happen on Monday, September 9. That’s the same date that Apple is set to announce the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro devices alongside new Apple Watches.

The update will be available for download over-the-air via the Software Update mechanism within the Settings app.

After the release of the sixth developer beta version of iOS 18, we expect that Apple will also then release an updated version of the public beta software, too. If any further issues are discovered it’s possible that a second Release Candidate update will be made available before the update is rolled out globally, too.
