iOS 18 Jailbreak Status Update

Apple’s latest version of the iPhone software, iOS 18, is now available for download and it brings with it a number of new software features that make it well worth downloading and installing.

But for all the new features and improvements that the new software has to offer, some people will still be keen to consider jailbreaking their iPhone. So where do things stand in terms of jailbreaking iOS 18?

Jailbreaking is definitely not as popular as it once was, but some people still like to do it. However, jailbreaking isn’t possible with iOS 17.8 or indeed any iOS 17.x release that came before it, because modern devices cannot be jailbroken.

Those with an iPhone X-era device are also out of luck because while those devices have been jailbroken at the boot ROM level and Apple cannot patch that, those devices are not compatible with iOS 18 — meaning everyone is unfortunately out of luck.

All of this could well change of course, but at the time of writing jailbreaking iOS 18 just isn’t something that’s in the cards.

Thankfully, this is the best version of iOS yet and with iOS 18.1 and Apple Intelligence just around the corner, there’s a lot to enjoy regardless.
