Here’s iOS 18 compatible iPhone and iPad models list chart to help you determine if your device will actually be capable of installing and running the next big software update to come out of Apple Park.
Apple’s big WWDC 2024 event has brought with it a ton of news including the unveiling of the new software that will power iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches into 2025 and beyond.
The iOS 18 update is set to be released to the public this September, and Apple will make the new software available to owners of various different types of devices. But will yours be on the list?
If you’re looking to get your hands on iOS 18 or iPadOS 18, you’ll need one of the following devices:
iPhones
- iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max
- iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max
- iPhone XR
- iPhone SE (2nd generation)
- iPhone SE (3rd generation)
iPads
- iPad Pro models from 2018 and later (3rd gen)

If you own an iPod touch you’ll need the 7th-gen model or be able to install the latest software.
Apple is now putting the new software updates through their paces that will end with a public release come September 16.
