As we get ever closer to the launch of the iOS 18 software update, a new report suggests that the latest beta could well be one of the last.

The iOS 18 beta 7 software was made available to developers earlier this year, with a public beta release following shortly. That update came alongside the latest betas for iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, and visionOS 2.

Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that he believes that this seventh release is essentially the one that will ship to the public next month beyond some tweaks related to the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro handsets.

“The latest iOS 18 seed, I’m told, is final other than features tied to the new hardware,” Gurman said in a post on the X social network. That means that users shouldn’t expect any big new additions in any future betas, and that we might even see Apple release the first Release Candidate version of the update next time around.

If Apple sticks to the pattern that we have become accustomed to, the company will release iOS 18 to the public this September, likely alongside the release of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.

But what comes next is already planned, with iOS 18.1 in the hands of developers. The beta includes Apple Intelligence and more, and will likely ship towards the end of the year — likely in or around October or November.
