Here are iOS 18 beta 2 release notes, bugs, features, changes, and known issues coming straight from Apple.
After making the first iOS 18 beta available to registered developers on June 10, Apple has now also released the second update to the same group of people.
The update can of course be downloaded via the Software Update mechanism within the Settings app but you’ll need to be a registered developer – the public beta isn’t set to get started until July.
Apple’s new beta comes a fortnight after the first and we can likely expect the third beta to be released in another two weeks. If Apple sticks to its previously tried and tested pattern we can then expect that it will start to release weekly beta updates as we get closer to the final release of iOS 18. That’s expected to take place this fall, likely in September.
Alongside the new beta software, Apple has also shared details about what’s new in this release, what’s fixed, and also what’s broken. Be sure to read through the release notes properly to make sure that you’re aware of the current state of play, especially if you’re installing the iOS 18 beta on a mission-critical device. We would, of course, recommend against doing that, however.
This iOS 18 beta update comes as Apple also releases new betas for the iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro.
