Looking for iOS 18 Apple Intelligence features release date? Here’s what you need to know.
While iOS 18 is now available, there are some features that aren’t available right away. Apple Intelligence won’t ship until iOS 18.1 in October, but not all of its features are arriving immediately with others shipping in subsequent updates.
The main iOS 18.1 update will bring the main chunk of Apple Intelligence to the masses including support for an improved Siri, writing tools that can summarize and proofread text, and more. New notification summaries will also help, while phone call recordings and transcriptions will also be beneficial to some.
A new Reduce Interruptions focus mode is designed to help weed out unimportant notifications and a new Clean Up tool will allow people to remove content from photos, too. The Photos app will also gain the ability to create new Memories from text prompts.
Beyond that, iOS 18.2 will see Apple Intelligence stretch to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom after only initially launching in the United States in October. The update is expected to ship in December, with generative AI also set to offer Image Playground and Genmogi creation from text prompts, too. Moving on, ChatGPT integration is also set to be part of the same software update.
The iOS 18.3 update will likely arrive in January but it’s unclear yet what new features that will add. But iOS 18.4 will follow, bringing Siri’s Personal Context support, On-Screen Awareness, and new in-app controls which could change the way people use their iPhones.
There is still a long way to go before that update ships to the public, however, and things could well change between now and then.
