Whenever Apple releases new versions of iOS there is always someone who wonders how it performs. Will their iPhone get faster or slower, and will their battery start to show its age?
These are questions that people often want answers to before they set about updating their devices as well, which makes them difficult to get. But that’s where YouTuber iAppleBytes comes into play.
The YouTuber has been putting the very latest iOS 17.3 update through its paces as well as iOS 15.8.1 and iOS 16.7.5 as well. Those two updates are designed to work with older iPhones that don’t support iOS 17 or later, and are particularly important for those with older batteries.
According to the testing done by iAppleBytes all of the devices tested have an improvement in terms of battery performance which is important. That’s great for anyone who has been on the fence about installing a new battery, for example. You can watch the full video for the lowdown on individual devices that were tested.
Over to iOS 17.3, the performance of your iPhone’s battery will likely depend on which model you have so make sure to watch the video. Some devices fare better than others, but none of them appear to be particularly bad.
As always though, we’d suggest installing the latest version of iOS that is available to you in order to make sure you’re running the latest security and bug fixes.
