Apple recently released iOS 17.0.3 to the public with fixes and, most importantly, a change that should mean iPhone 15 Pro models don’t overheat so much. But how does the update affect battery life and performance?
That’s the question that YouTuber iAppleBytes set out to answer and they did that in a near 10-minute video that puts the new update through its paces across a variety of different devices.
Those devices include modern and not-so-modern iPhones so that you can get a good feel for how your own iPhone will perform when the new update is installed.
You can watch the entire video for yourself here and we aren’t going to spoil it too much for you. What we will say is that while battery life and performance are important, it’s vital to remember that this release was designed to deal with specific fixes, especially whatever was causing the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max to get so hot during use.
That being said, it does look like this release wasn’t a bad one in terms of performance and battery life and that isn’t something that can always be said about these releases. Now we wait to see what iOS 17.1 is like once that completes its beta program and is released to the public within the next few weeks. That’s likely to be the last major update to iOS 17 before the holidays, too.
