Here’s iOS 17.0.1 battery life drain test on iPhone and what to expect from it.
Apple’s iOS 17.0.1 update is now available for all iPhones except the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models. They have iOS 17.0.2 available to them, but for owners of older models, this is the latest and greatest that Apple has to offer. But how does that update affect battery life?
For some people with older iPhones that don’t have great battery health, how iOS updates impact battery life is a big deal.
For those people, YouTuber iAppleBytes puts iPhones and software updates through their paces to see how they perform in terms of battery life. And the resulting videos can be eye-opening.
In this instance, it doesn’t appear that iOS 17.0.1 is going to improve the battery life for anyone who has been suffering from poor performance on some models.
Some people have experienced degraded battery life since upgrading to iOS 17 from iOS 16.7, and this update isn’t going to fix that. Check out the video for a full rundown of how iOS 17.0.1 affects battery life on a range of devices.
It’s important to note that the iOS 17.0.1 update was never intended to improve battery life and that it’s real aim was to fix some security flaws that Apple believes were being actively exploited in the while. With that in mind, it shouldn’t be all that surprising that this update doesn’t improve matters for people who were already suffering from sub-par battery performance.
Having said that, here’s hoping things improve with a future release.
