Here’s iOS 17 RC download and expected release date for iPhone and iPad users.
After announcing iOS 17 during the WWDC event on June 5, Apple has been releasing new developer betas at regular intervals. We’re almost at the end of that beta program — and this is when we can expect the first Release Candidate update to be made available.
Apple is expected to release iOS 17 to the public very soon indeed, and the latest beta arrived on August 29. At this rate, we would guess that Apple is now going to release iOS 17 RC on September 12, almost immediately after the company shared details about the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro on September 12.
From there, we should expect no more betas assuming everything goes according to plan. The next release will likely be the final one, made available to everyone.
The iOS 17 beta will of course be compatible with older iPhones and not just the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. It’s going to bring with it some big changes including a new Messages apps layout, search filters, and more. A new check-in feature is also going to be available to help people notify friends and family when they arrive at a destination.
There’s more, too. Audio messages are now transcribed, while photos can now be used to create Live Stickers. StandBy is perhaps the biggest addition though — the feature turns your iPhone into an alarm clock of sorts when attached to a charger and placed on its side.
