Apple’s iOS 17 isn’t set to become available until this fall, likely in or around September. And while Apple announced a whole load of new features there are some that it didn’t.
But with plenty of developers now running the betas we’re starting to learn more and more about what’s new in the upcoming software.
One of those unannounced features will allow people to take a photo of a clothing label and then have iOS 17 automatically identify what the many symbols mean. The feature will allow people to get more information on what the labels mean without having to manually search for the answer themselves.
This news comes after it was recently discovered that iOS 17 will also do something similar but with in-car symbols. Taking a photo of a symbol on a car dashboard allows people to identify what those symbols mean.
Both features are advances of the existing Visual Lookup feature that allows iPhones to identify things in photos.
As for iOS 17, the update was announced during WWDC 2023 on June 5 and is set to be released to the public in or around September. That’s also when we expect Apple to announce the new iPhone 15 lineup including the iPhone 15 Pro. The iOS 17 update will also be joined by iPadOS 17, macOS Sonoma, tvOS 17, and watchOS 10.
