Apple has announced iOS 17 final version release date today. Here are the details on this.
Apple’s iOS 17 software was announced during the WWDC event on June 5 and it’s been releasing betas ever since. Now, we finally know when Apple will release iOS 17 to the public.
Apple’s iOS 17 update now has its Release Candidate beta ready for developer download and Apple confirmed that the same software update will roll out to everyone who wants it on Monday, September 18.
That gives Apple almost a week of making sure that the RC release is complete following its own September 12 release. Assuming there are no issues we can expect the update to roll out to iPhones around the world.
Apple of course needs to get iOS 17 ready to go in time to get it installed on iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models ahead of their own release. They’re set to go on sale on September 22.
The iOS 17 update brings with it plenty of new features including upgrades to the Messages app, not least new search capabilities and a new interface for apps. Other improvements include the StandBy feature that puts widgets and clock data on the iPhone’s screen when it’s plugged in and placed on its side, replicating an alarm clock device.
Further improvements include the ability to record a video or audio message when someone misses your FaceTime call as well as interactive widgets on the iPhone’s Home screen for the first time.
