Here’s how to download iOS 16 RC (Release Candidate) Configuration Profile file and OTA update without a registered UDID or developer account with Apple having now released it.
As you may already know by now, Apple has now released the iOS 16 Release Candidate update to developers and we can expect it to be made available to those on the public beta program soon enough ahead of a public release within days.
After months of betas, it won’t be long now before everyone gets to take Apple’s latest update for a spin — Lock Screen widgets, iMessage unsending, and all.
With that said, let’s get into the steps you need to follow if you don’t want to wait that long and need to take the Release Candidate for a spin ASAP.
Step 1: On your iPhone or iPad device, launch Safari, and get hold of developer profile from the Internet. We can’t share the link to it here, sorry about that, but it shouldn’t be too difficult to find online.
Step 2: Download the configuration profile file to your device by tapping the download button.
Step 3: If prompted “on which device would you like to install this profile?” select iPhone and continue.
Step 4: In the screen that follows, tap on Install. After the profile is installed, your device will be rebooted.
Step 5: Once your device has rebooted, launch the Settings app, navigate to General > Software Update and you should find the “iOS 16” update waiting for you there.
Step 6: Tap on Download and Install, and that is about it. You should be good to go!
