Noticed how iOS 12 WiFi keeps dropping issues being an annoyance? Here’s how to fix the problem on your iPhone.
iOS 12 is officially here, and, for that we are thankful. However, a growing number of people are reporting that after installing the first official release of iOS 12 they are experiencing issues with intermittent WiFi dropping across a variety of device types.
WiFi is one of those really important parts of any modern mobile device that you really don’t appreciate until it starts playing up. Sure, LTE and cellular are there as a fallback but sometimes that really doesn’t cut it, meaning that it’s extremely noticeable if the WiFi just keeps dropping out and putting you in a position where you don’t have any connection or have to rely on a slower data connection to get the job done.
Apple will likely address this going forward in an iOS 12.0.1 update, but, for now, it is possible to go through a few small steps to rectify it. Without further ado or wasting any additional time – after all, you’re here to resolve the problem – let’s dive right in and take a look at the very short set of steps that are required to get this issue resolved. Keep in mind that this process is going to reset the network settings on your device but it is not going to wipe data and information from your iPhone. Let’s go:
Step 1: Launch the Settings app on the iOS 12-powered device and head to the General section.
Step 2: Inside of the General settings, scroll all the way to the bottom of the interface and select the Reset option.
Step 3: The third option down is titled Reset Network Settings. Select that option and enter in the passcode code on your device to verify the process.
Step 4: Follow the prompts and give permission where necessary. The device will then go through the necessary process to reset the network settings.
Once the process has completed you should be put right back in control of your device with the network settings on the device entirely reset. You should then be able to go through the usual process of setting up WiFi networks and the like in order to use the device as normal.
