Instapaper might not be the app that you’d expect to gain CarPlay support but here we are and that’s exactly what has happened.
Instapaper is an app that has been around for years and has always been one of the better read-later apps.
But now it’s taken things up a notch by adding support for CarPlay so that it can read your articles to you as you drive. You’ll need to be a paid Instapaper Premium subscriber, however.
With the Instapaper CarPlay app, it’s now easier than ever to listen to your articles while driving. The CarPlay app offers easy access to your entire Instapaper account, including your saved articles in Home, Liked, Archived, and Folders.
This is definitely an interesting use for CarPlay and goes way beyond the usual music and podcast listening experience. CarPlay is already great for navigation of course, but listening to a text-to-speech version of your favorite blog could also now be part of the attraction.
You can download the latest version of Instapaper from the App Store for free right now, although as mentioned you’ll have to subscribe to Instapaper Premium to use the CarPlay feature. Instapaper Premium costs $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year and includes other features as well including unlimited notes, speed reading, and more.
