Install PlayStation Mobile Store On Your Rooted Android Device [How-To]

Indeed, Sony's PlayStation Mobile Store for Android only went live last night, but if you don't have a certified device, then so long as your Android smartphone or slate is rooted, you too can install PlayStation Mobile Store and enjoy its benefits.

Just to reiterate, you will need a rooted device in order to successfully follow this tutorial. You can follow our one-click solution to rooting the Nexus 7 here, but if you're running a different device, there are plenty of tutorials available on the web.

Step 1: Download and install the PlayStation Mobile Store APK.

Step 2: Download the flashable ZIP from one of the links over at AndroidPolice:

Step 3: Next, you must flash the ZIP from a custom recovery, such as ClockWorkMod recovery.

Step 4: Reboot your device, after which, the PlayStation app would be working fine. You'll need to register a Sony Entertainment Network account if you haven't already, but from then onwards, you should be able to play games.

Apparently, the PlayStation Mobile Store APK runs well on the Nexus 7, although has been said to crash on others, so you may not wish to try this out out on your daily driver.
