We’ve been hearing rumors of a new third-generation pair of AirPods for a few months now and we might now have been treated to the first images of those new wireless earbuds.
And just like the rumors have claimed, they look very similar to AirPods Pro.
According to images shared by 52audio, the new AirPods will borrow heavily from the AirPods Pro design in that they will be in-ear offerings rather than the AirPods design right now. AirPods currently sit on the outside of your ear, while AirPods Pro sit inside to make for better sound and a more secure fit
The new images show a redesigned Wireless Charging Case that again looks more like an AirPods Pro Case than the current AirPods lineup.
Set to be priced at around $150, we don’t expect these things to feature the same active noise cancellation technology of the AirPods Pro to make an appearance, however.
As for a launch window, we’re hearing that a March timeframe is possible although recent rumors of a March 16 event are unlikely to prove accurate given the lack of history with the leakers in question.
We’ll be keeping our eyes open and our ears to the ground for more information as the days roll on, however.
