HTC Droid DNA All-In-One Toolkit Lets You Root, Install Drivers, Boot Into Recovery, More

HTC DNA

Included with the toolkit is ClockworkMod Recovery along with TWRP 2.3.2, but if you wish to flash other recoveries, you can do that, too. Your device must have its bootloader unlocked in order for the toolkit to work, so those using the Verizon model - which as its bootloader locked down from the get-go - will need the help of a software mod provided by Justin Case. The mod spoofs the HTC Dev website into thinking your device is unbranded, and will help you achieve the bootloader unlock you need.

Before you get started, you'll need to enable USB debugging on your Droid DNA by navigating through Settings > Developer Options. When you first download the toolkit, you'll need to opt for the ‘Install HTC Drivers,’ and thereafter, you should be good to go.

There are many benefits to rooting an Android device, which have covered in grave detail in one of our previous posts. If you have always fancied trying your hand at rooting, but simply haven't had the confidence or knowledge to do so, this all-in-one tool acts as a good way to ease you in gently.

Should you get stuck trying to use any of the features offered by the toolkit, you simply head over to the original thread on XDA (linked to below), where one of the many knowledgeable heads will be happy to help you out.

We’ve seen a spate of all-in-one tool-kits for Android devices surface recently, and adding to the release of the AiO for the Nexus 4 and HTC One X+, the guys over at XDA Developers have rustled together a similar tool for the HTC Droid DNA. Last week, we showed you how to go about rooting the slick 4G device and also unlocking its bootloader, but if you found that particular tutorial to be a little daunting, you can not only root, but install drivers, flash custom recoveries and more with the toolkit.

XDA-Developers’ hasoon2000 – a regular when it comes to the good work of the modding community, has released the all in one toolkit which makes rooting your device a complete doddle. It’s only available for those running on Windows (the dev has stated there will be no Mac or Linux alternatives arriving), so if you’re running Microsoft’s flagship OS, check out the further details below.
