If you’re the owner of an Apple TV 4K and happen to subscribe to the Apple Music streaming service, you might already be aware of the Apple Music Sing feature that can be used as a kind of karaoke setup.
But did you also know that you can use your iPhone or iPad and Continuity Camera to put yourself on-screen, too?
The feature requires an Apple TV 4K and a compatible iPhone or iPad and you will of course also need an Apple Music subscription, too, unless you’re using songs you own. Assuming those are all covered you have everything that you need to get started although we’d suggest some sort of stand for your iPhone or iPad would also be a good idea.
Here’s how to use Continuity Camera with Apple Music Sing:
Step 1: Open the Music app on the Apple TV and choose the song that you want to play.
Step 2: Select the lyrics button – note that lyrics aren’t always available for all songs.
Step 3: Select the Video Camera button on the Apple TV and select Connect iPhone or iPad. You’ll see your name appear on-screen and you can confirm that you’re connecting to the correct device.
Step 4: Tap Connect to Apple TV when the confirmation appears on your iPhone or iPad display.
And that’s all there is to it. Now you can get down to the business of singing along to your favorite tunes.
