How To Play Music Through iPhone’s Earpiece

Music

We’ve checked out an abundance of tweaks recently here at Redmond Pie for those who love nothing more than to play music on their iOS devices, and if you are reliant on your iPhone as a double-up mp3 player, you will have almost certainly experienced that rueful situation whereby you misplaced, forgot or even completely lost your headphones. No headphones mean no music, or at least it should do in a public place, but if you’re in ownership of an earpiece for purpose of making handsfree calls, a new tweak over at the ModMyi repo will see this double up as a makeshift earbud.

Of course, there’s no replacement for two fully working, comfortably fitting headphones when listening to some of your favorite jams, but often needs must, and although nodding your head to the beat while wearing an earpiece may raise an eyebrow or two, it’s certainly better than nothing.

Thanks to the rather cleverly named Music2MyEar tweak, any earpiece can be turned into one half of a pair of headphones, and this is not only useful when you forget your headphones, but also when you wish to play a song to somebody else and would also like to be considerate towards those around you by not playing on the loudspeaker.

Provided you remember your headphones, this isn’t a tweak you’re going to need everyday, particularly as the sound quality is notably inferior than on a set of proper headphones. However, it’s definitely a good failsafe tweak to have in the inventory, and if you like to keep all of your options open when it comes to the enjoyment of your beloved grooves, Music2MyEar is certainly one you should check out.

As aforementioned, it’s available over at the ModMyi repository, which should be in your default list of sources within Cydia (unless you’ve manually opted to remove it for some reason). It costs absolutely nothing, so grab it, test it out with your own earpiece and see how it pans out for you, and let us know of your thoughts by dropping a comment via the usual mediums below!
