Apple may not have made a song and dance about the launch of the new (Product)RED iPhone and iPhone 7 Plus, but there really can’t be any denying that it looks stunning and certainly helps an amazing global cause. However, as lovely and striking as iPhone looks with that deep red exterior, there are some consumers who feel the device would have resonated more with the public with a contrasting red/black mix instead of the white front panel.
It may not be an official method, but you can actually get that visual experience for under 10 bucks instead of having to go the difficult route of getting the front panel replaced with the actual black iPhone.
The (Product)RED iPhone 7 series is likely to be extremely popular with those who have been craving a top-end iPhone that differs visually from the usual colors offered by Apple. Black and red has always been a stunning visual combination, so people are a little stunned that Apple didn’t take the opportunity to offer up that combination.
However, as mentioned above, with a relatively tiny financial outlay it is actually entirely possible to turn the white front black using a tinted black front panel screen protector.
When you actually get the protector onto the device, you will notice that the majority of the white will now be in glorious black color. However, it does offer some limitations and does come with a few drawbacks that you will have to live with if you go down this route.
First of all, the protector has the standard cut-out in place for the Home button and to ensure that the Touch ID functionality is still functional. This means that the Home button remains white and clearly stands out. There’s also a very fine white rim around the outside of the device which doesn’t get covered by the protector, and is therefore visible at all times.
If those limitations are perfectly acceptable to you in your pursuit of a beautiful black and red iPhone, then you could pick up something like this attractively priced iPhone 7 or 7 Plus tempered glass screen protector in black from Amazon for under $10. Of course, and as mentioned earlier, if you have the necessary skills, you could also just purchase an entirely new black iPhone 7 or 7 Plus front panel and have the white one replaced complete with a black Touch ID / Home button. But that will of course require lots of $ and skill to achieve that perfect look.
