Here’s how you can get the new iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 El Capitan wallpaper, and use them on any device you like.
If there is one thing that is as certain as new versions of OS X and iOS being showcased at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, it’s that the two new updates will include a rather snazzy new wallpaper apiece. Apple has used space, cats and vistas as its inspiration when choosing wallpapers for the Mac and iOS over the years, with a little bit of abstract art thrown in for good measure, and whether you like them or not, they’re always brand new.
If you’re planning on upgrading to the latest and greatest versions of iOS or OS X then that’s all well and good, but what if you can’t upgrade for whatever reason or, shock horror, simply don’t want to? What if you still want to get your hands on that new wallpaper that everyone is so pleased with?
Thankfully, while Apple isn’t exactly one for sharing the love in such matters, there is always someone keen to get the new wallpapers out into the wild during the developer preview process, and with iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 El Capitan, that’s exactly what has happened. We’re just a day into the preview lifecycle of Apple’s mobile and desktop operating system updates but already there are copies of the wallpapers from both floating around the Internet. They are high resolution grab of the files used, and we have to say that the iOS 9 wallpaper in particular is absolutely stunning when seen on a big screen – sometimes it’s all too easy to forget the resolutions our phones run at until we try and look at what they use for wallpapers on normal monitors.

Both the iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 El Capitan wallpapers can be downloaded right now, and with both new operating systems not expected to be set for public consumption for a few months yet, this may be the best way we’ve seen to at least get some of the early beta feel without the hassle of actually going ahead and installing it on one of your devices.
