The iOS 7 lock screen clock is elegant, minimal, and does exactly what it needs to, and while the smaller status bar clock will serve you well throughout the rest of iOS, it is, in every sense of the phrase, not really much to look at. A neat little iWidgets-based tweak called SevenClock brings the famed lock screen clock to the home screen, and if you’re a fan of minimalism as we are, this tweak will greatly accentuate the look you’re striving for.
Sure, one could argue that, if you like to keep things simple, then surely no clock is better than this rather large lock screen-incarnate. However, a clean, polished look doesn’t have to be bare-bones, and if you can keep your home screen de-cluttered and free of the often overbearing selection of apps, then you can still enjoy plenty of clear space while also appreciating this rather nice clock.
As well as looking the part, it does, strangely enough, provide a functional purpose in helping you to tell the time, and if, for example, you’ve a little difficulty reading the small digital clock nestled in the center of the status bar, than SevenClock will make things just that little bit easier for you.
The tweak is absolutely free, and can be picked up from the default Modmyi repository in Cydia. We’ve installed it on our own iPhone 5s here at Redmond Pie, and can confirm that it works as advertised, so if you want that slick clock on your home screen, then we highly recommend this download.
SevenClock does list the iWidgets tweak in Cydia is a dependency, so provided you have it installed on your device, you can go ahead and treat your home screen to this very aesthetically-pleasing clock widget. Even if you don’t happen to have iWidgets installed, downloading SevenClock will add it to your ensemble of Cydia packages anyway, so either way, download SevenClock from Modmyi, and you’ll be good to go.
