How To Clean White iPad Magic Keyboard Case Stain And Dirt The Right Way

Here’s how to clean and fix white iPad Magic Keyboard case stains and dirt the right way.

If your OEM iPad Magic Keyboard from Apple has become dirty with stains like shown in the photo below, you can clean it if you follow the right instructions.

Now Apple has provided official instructions to clean it as well. First you must follow the instructions given by Apple to see if they help clean these marks. If this works for you, there’s nothing better than that.

Now the white case is obviously prone to more dirt and stain due to the nature of the color compared to the black one. Apple says to “avoid prolonged contact with other materials, as color transfer may occur”, specifically for the white Magic Keyboard.

As for cleaning it, the official document from Apple instructs “to clean your Magic Keyboard, first remove it from the iPad. Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Wipe the front and the inside with a soft, lint-free cloth. You may use a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. Avoid getting moisture in any opening, and don’t submerge your Magic Keyboard in any cleaning agents. Don’t use window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, abrasives, or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide to clean this product.”

If the above doesn’t work for you, then you can try cleaning using white toothpaste trick. This involves using Colgate Optic White Advanced toothpaste, specifically the Sparkling White variant, to clean the Magic Keyboard case. Apply a layer over the marks, let it sit for 5 minutes, then brush it with a soft toothbrush and wipe it away with a tissue followed by a Clorox wipe—there will be a slight improvement.

After repeating the process and letting it sit for 30 minutes, you will notice a definite improvement. Put it on again and leave it on overnight, and by morning, the spots should be completely gone. You may need to repeat the process a few times depending on the number of marks, but if you’re frustrated with stains on your Magic Keyboard case, it’s highly recommend giving this toothpaste method a try.
