People often underestimate how much appeal jailbreaking has. Some people will literally try and seek out a device to purchase which comes with a version of iOS installed that can be jailbroken immediately. If you are one of those people, and you want to invest in a new iPhone X, but want to make sure that it’s running iOS 11.3.1, then we are here to help.
When purchasing a new smartphone, the easiest option is to simply walk into an Apple Store, or go on the Apple website, and make that purchase.
A consumer will either walk away with the device in their hand on the same day or, worst case, have to wait for a few days to wait for the delivery of the device to come through the courier system. While that may be easy, it doesn’t offer any guarantees whatsoever that the device will come with a version of iOS installed which can be immediately liberated from Apple’s walled-garden via whatever tool is currently available.
So, what do you do if you want the best possible chance of being satisfied as far as latest jailbreak is concerned which will be released soon in the form of Electra? It’s worth mentioning that no method of detecting the installed version of iOS is entirely bullet-proof. What that means is that there is a potential that you could do the best research to give yourself the best possible chance of getting a device with iOS 11.3.1 but still be disappointed. So, you do need to keep that in mind when making the purchase.
With all of that in mind, what are your options?
Option 1:
If you head on over to the SNDeepInfo website – located at sndeep.info/en – then you can immediately get access to information that you wouldn’t otherwise have. This is a relatively simple-to-use web service which gives you the ability to pump in the serial number of the device that you are thinking about purchasing and get back some additional information about the hardware that you wouldn’t normally have had. Apple’s iOS 11.3.1 was released on April 24, 2018. So, any device manufactured around this date is likely to have iOS 11.3.1 installed.
Option 2:
If the first option isn’t working for you then you can just grab ahold of the serial number from the bag of the box of the device that you are thinking about purchasing. If the serial number contains WL or WP then those devices are known to ship with iOS 11.3.1 installed. It’s a good sign that if you purchase that device you will be successful.
Option 3:
Yes, you guessed it, there is another website. This allows you to pump the serial number directly into the site and get the installed iOS version. Head on over to fecaleagle.github.io to get up and running with that.
