From the feedback we’ve had on past coverage, we know that many of our wonderful readers love their cricket just as much as they appreciate the latest and greatest tech releases. With this in mind, we’re going to show you how you can add the the Cricket World Cup fixtures to your Google Calendar with step-by-step instructions.
One of the oldest sports in the world, cricket has a rich history across many continents, and rivalries will be renewed once again when the CWC 2015 commences later this week. Australia versus England is always an entertaining contest, and will spearhead proceedings of Friday, while New Zealand, one of the hosts, will play Sri Lanka.
There are many ways to keep up with all the action, and having the schedule embedded into your Google Calendar is a decent first step. Without any further ado, here’s the guide.
Step 1: Make sure you have your Google account set up on your device, by navigating to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Additionally, you’ll also want to make sure that your default calendar is Google. Simply scroll all the way down on the same Mail, Contacts, Calendars page and see which calendar is selected in ‘Default Calendar.’
Step 2: Download Cricket World Cup 2015 app for iOS and then launch it.
Step 3: On the main page tap on Fixtures, which will show you the schedule of the matches.
Step 4: Now tap on the little calendar icon at the bottom of any fixture. Then tap on ‘Add all fixtures.’
Step 5: The fixtures are now added to your Google Calendar and will even give you reminder an hour early before a match starts.
Since everything is synced with your Google Calendar, you can see all of the fixtures on different devices, so no matter where you are and what device you’re on, you’ll still be able to keep updated with the latest happenings in the Cricket World Cup 2015.
Thankfully, adding the all-important fixtures to your calendar takes less than a minute, although if you do get the opportunity to watch some of the matches, we would – as mad cricket fans ourselves – recommend doing so.
As for who we think will win, it’s anyone’s guess at the moment, and whatever the outcome, it’ll probably be a close run thing.
As an Englishman, you can probably guess who I’m rooting for, but whatever happens, I just hope that we beat the Aussies see some great cricket!
