A new tweak on Cydia, which, simply put, allows you to add a variety of cool effects to your wallpaper. It works for both the lock screen and home screen, and with plenty of effects to select from, is very thorough in its offering. It costs just 99 cents, and we’ve all the details after the break!
On Android, you can enjoy the varied effect of live wallpapers, which let you bring your backdrop to life with all manner of different shapes, colors and effects. iOS is a little different, and by different, I mean, well.. your wallpaper simply sits still. In the grand scheme of iOS’s shortcomings, this is certainly nothing that’s going to ruin the day of many iOS users, but if your wallpaper must be static, at least there are tweaks like Sodium about to help bring a little "cool" factor to proceedings. Besides, some folks prefer their backgrounds not to fidget.
Once installed, you can begin configuring your wallpaper via the Settings app in iOS, which will allow you to add from a variety of different colors and blends to yield a truly unique look. Although the primary purpose of the app is to help bring a bland background to life with an injection of color and movement, you can try the Sodium tweak with any kind of image, yes, any kind of image you can come across. Granted, there’ll probably be a bit of trial and error involved as you try and create the best end product, but with a little perseverance, you can produce some superb results.
For just 99 cents, it is a worthwhile investment, particularly if you have had the same wallpaper for a while but don’t quite feel ready to part with it. The tweak is available from the default BigBoss repository in Cydia which, unless you’ve decided to remove it manually, should be among your default list of sources.
