HomePod mini Gets New Midnight Color Replacing The Space Gray Option

Apple has today refreshed the HomePod mini lineup with a new Midnight color to replace the existing Space Gray, although the two colors appear to be almost identical from what we can see.

The speaker is functionality identical to the model that was already on sale, and the existing Blue, Orange, White, and Yellow colors also remain available for those who want to choose something a little more colorful.

The new Midnight HomePod mini is available starting July 17 and will cost the same $99 as you might expect, with the U.S., Canada, China, Singapore, and 28 other countries and regions included in the launch.

Today, Apple introduced HomePod mini in midnight, made with 100 percent recycled mesh fabric. At just 3.3 inches tall, HomePod mini offers big sound in an impressively compact design. With a seamless, acoustically transparent mesh exterior and a backlit touch surface that illuminates from edge to edge, HomePod mini is a stunning smart speaker that complements any space. HomePod mini in midnight is available starting Wednesday, July 17, and joins other bold colors, including yellow, orange, blue, and white.

Apple first launched the HomePod mini in 2020 with just Space Gray and White versions available before adding new colors to the mix at a later date.

Unlike the full-size HomePod, the HomePod mini has not yet been refreshed to include a second-generation model but that could change in the future. Neither HomePod includes support for Apple Intelligence due to their lack of processing power and RAM, a fact that makes an updated model all the more likely to allow Siri to improve at the same pace across all platforms.

Apple Intelligence will launch in beta later this year and be available on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
