‘Hey Lucid’ – Premium EV Owners Can Now Talk To Their Car AI Just Like Siri

There are plenty of different AI options around whether it’s Siri, ChatGPT, Google Assistant, or something else. But if you’re the owner of a Lucid EV you can now talk to your car’s new AI assistant using a brand-new “Hey Lucid” wake word.

The hands-free assistant is powered by SoundHound Chat AI and works in much the same way as more familiar options, like Siri. Drivers can say “Hey Lucid” and then make their requests, whether they’re asking for information on the weather or checking the traffic information.

Controlling of in-car features like navigation systems is also an option, too, Electrek reports.

The Lucid Assistant is powered by SoundHound Chat AI, the cutting-edge voice platform that was the first into full production with a voice assistant that integrates the latest generative AI technology. This integration will give drivers access to a voice assistant that further enhances Lucid’s in-vehicle user experience with interactive knowledge discovery, real-time data, and effortless in-vehicle controls.

“Developing Lucid Assistant in cooperation with SoundHound enables us to deliver much more than a voice control feature,” Lucid’s Head of Software Engineering, Dr Jean-Philippe Gauthier, explained when discussing the technology. He want on to add that future OTA software updates will mean that “Lucid Assistant can grow” with new functions further down the line.
