Sony’s getting ready for the big release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on the PS5 later this year by announcing an all-new limited edition console bundle.
That bundle includes a rather fetching PS5 console with Spider-Man artwork as well as a special DualSense controller that carries that aesthetic on beyond the console itself. Buyers will also get a copy of the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 game included, too.
Sony says that the new console is designed to reflect the addition of Venom to the Spider-Man world, and it certainly looks like it does that.
We were thrilled to debut these stunning designs to our fans today because of how they capture the look and feel of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The threat of Venom and the symbiote will be one of the most formidable challenges that our two Spider-Men will face in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This is why we wanted to reflect the intensity of the symbiote and its capacity for transformation and power with a takeover design for the PS5 console and DualSense wireless controller.
Those who already have a PS5 can also buy the console face plates to install on their old machinery, while the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DualSense controller is also going to be made available as a separate purchase as well.
Preorders for the new console bundle begin on July 28 while the special console covers and DualSense controller will be available from September 1. The game itself isn’t going to go on sale until October 20, and that’s when buyers of the console bundle will be able to download it.
