Just found this hands-on video of a Windows Phone via The Inquirer which is said to be running the final version of Windows Mobile 6.5 on HTC Touch Diamond2.
For those of you who don’t know, Microsoft rebranded Windows Mobile phones to Windows Phones earlier this year at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona. The term ‘Windows Mobile’ will only be used to identify the operating system releases e.g. 6.1, 6.5, 7.0 and so on.
The new Windows Mobile 6.5 home screen with Zune-like interface is optimized for touch-screens and includes an improved UX, making it easier to take action with a finger. The big miss? Multi-touch still isn’t part of this release of Windows Mobile OS. We will probably have to wait for Windows Mobile 7 which will bring multi touch to Windows phones.
The new Windows phones with Windows Mobile 6.5 are expected to be available in the coming months.
