Halo 4 Launch Trailer ‘Scanned’ Released [VIDEO]

The November 6th release date for Halo 4 is looming near, and with excitement levels already at an all-time high, it’s time to notch it up a few more levels now since the official Halo 4 ‘Scanned’ trailer has been released. The trailer has been produced by David Fincher, who may be better known to film buffs as the director of Fight Club and The Social Network, and brings an extraordinary amount of detail all combined together in a hybrid production of mixed media and video game footage.

The trailer has officially been produced and released as part of the ongoing promotional push for the latest in the Halo franchise, an Xbox 360 game that is penciled in for a November 6th release, just in time for the holiday shopping season frenzy. Rather than going down the traditional route of showing some advanced gameplay and some of the multiplayer features of the game, the Scanned includes a mix of virtual and real-world footage that not only outlines what fans can expect in the Halo 4 game but also gives an insight into the creation and current mindset of the The Master Chief.

The difference with this trailer is that it actually makes an attempt to allow gamers to feel like they have an understanding and personal knowledge of their hero after him being shown as an innocent boy before entering the training and inauguration process that eventually ends up with the boy becoming the armor clad Master Chief. The trailer is dramatic and flicks seamlessly between live-action and CGI generated imagery with quite a few startling moments that actually give the impression that the game might be quite stressful to play with all of this mild and consistent peril.

The downside to the trailer is that it actually gives very little away about what gamers can expect from Halo 4 in terms of actual gameplay and graphics, focusing instead on production and special-effects values to make it looks visually stunning. After watching the trailer, it’s likely that gamers will be left wondering exactly what the enemy will actually look like or the environments that will need to be traversed to overcome adversity during the game. Regardless of that, we are being told that “an ancient evil awakens” and we can’t wait to find out what it is.
