Gull1hack and Blacksn0w V2 by the Gull1hack team has now been confirmed as fake by the iPhone Dev-Team. A Release Candidate version of Gull1hack was released the other day which was supposed to jailbreak all iPhone and iPod touch devices on the new bootrom untethered.
This is what the iPhone Dev-Team had to say about Gull1hack.
Don’t be fooled by gull1hack. http://iphwn.org/gh.txt <-It’s designed to say Transfer failed. Avoid trojans and viruses.
And this is the message you will get when you try and use this tool with your iPhone and iPod touch.
Stay away from all such tools as they could harm your phone or computer by running malicious code. Only redsn0w, sn0wbreeze, PwnageTool, ultrasn0w and blacksn0w are confirmed as working. [thanks to Kenny Pang for the tip via email]
