GTA 5 Now Available On Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has added Grand Theft Auto 5 to the extensive collection of games offered as part of its Xbox Game Pass subscription.

The popular open-world game, which is four years older than Microsoft’s Netflix-esque subscription service for games, continues to be relevant to this day, largely owing to its online features, and will make for a welcome addition. Unfortunately for PC subscribers, the game has only been added to Game Pass for Xbox and there hasn’t yet been any mention of when it will make its way to the young PC variant of the subscription, if ever.

For those unfamiliar with the workings of Xbox Game Pass, the service offers a selection of games, currently over a 100 and including the latest titles from Microsoft’s own Xbox Game Studios, for a monthly charge of $9.99. A “Ultimate” variant of the subscription throws in both Xbox and PC variants of the subscription as well as access to Xbox Live Gold for $14.99 a month.

The addition of GTA 5 to the roster means that members will be able to play the game for no additional charge as long as their subscription is live.

Of course, the news may not be all that exciting to those who’ve already had their fill of the roughly seven-year-old game, but if you never got around to playing it, this may be the cheapest way to give it a go, provided you are already have a running Game Pass subscription or plan to play the game for just one month. What’s more, if you head on over to xbox.com right now, you should be able to purchase three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for just $1.
