The Nexus 5 is well and truly here, and keeping up with the tradition which we follow here at Redmond Pie where we pit the latest flagship devices against their immediate competitors that are already on the market, in this case, it’s the Google Nexus 5 versus the mighty Apple iPhone 5s. Check out the complete features list compared head-to-head in a detailed table right here.
When compared directly with the iPhone 5s, the Nexus 5 fares pretty well in terms of hardware. If we look past the fact that the Nexus 5 does not boast a 64-bit chip or a fingerprint sensor for that matter, something which the iPhone 5s stands proud for, Google’s flagship has all the nuts and bolts which can give the iPhone 5s a serious run for its money.
In the table, we will compare each and every single hardware feature that we know of head-to-head, and give our conclusion in the end which device you should go for.
As you can see from the table, both devices are pretty powerful in terms of hardware. But it boils down to the user preference what they want to go for.
With features like Slo-Mo video, a 64-bit processor coupled with the M7 motion coprocessor, the iPhone 5s is indeed a very tempting device to own.
Personally speaking, and from what I’ve seen in the Android space so far, the Nexus 5 is indeed the best Android smartphone you can get right now. And to top things off, it’s darn cheap in terms of money you’re going to part with, and comes pre-installed with the latest flavor of Android, which is Android 4.4 KitKat.
$349 dollars – starting price – for such powerful hardware can only be classified as a dream these days, Google’s partnership with LG has made this marvel happen and has indeed brought a killer smartphone to the masses.
But the big question is: should you buy the Nexus 5 or the iPhone 5s? The answer is rather simple; if you’re an Android fan and are looking for a mighty upgrade for less price, then this is the best option out there. Period.
If you happen to reside on the other side of the fence and prefer iOS over Android any time, then the iPhone 5s is the way too go.
