Best Buy is well known as an establishment through which you can usually strike a pretty good deal, and while the prices of Apple gadgets do not tend to fluctuate – no matter who is retailing them – unless a newer edition of said device is on the horizon, you can now nab yourself a cool $25 Best Buy gift card by purchasing an iPhone 5 from the retailer’s online store.
Okay, so you’re still paying a couple hundred bucks for the handset, while also signing up to a contract, but at least this way, you can get yourself a couple of albums, a few apps, games, and music videos to fill your shiny new smartphone up with.
As you may already be aware, rivals Target and RadioShack are offering $20 gift cards, but Best Buy – not to be outdone – has trumped both of its rivals with a slightly better deal. As an afterthought, this time of year presents a dilemma for some as to what kind of gifts to buy for friends and relatives, and with gift cards seen as the de facto gift for the indecisive / disinterested, you could always recycle the gift card by slipping it into somebody’s Christmas card.
To be fair, these savings of $20 or $25 are paltry compared with how much money needs to exchange hands for you to own the latest and greatest Cupertino handset. Subsidized by contracts which are now generally two years long, the likes of Best Buy, Target, and RadioShack really have to strive to offer consumers any kind of discount or incentive to part with such wads of cash, and although an iTunes Store gift card is not likely to be a deal make-or-breaker to most, it’s certainly something.
The deal from Best Buy ends on December 15th, the same day as the Target and RadioShack offers, so if you were planning on grabbing yourself an iPhone 5 this holiday, head on over to the Best Buy website to get the little additional gratuity. With Black Friday and Cyber Monday now behind us, the deals will inevitably begin to dry up soon, so scoop up any savings you can get your hands on!
