Getting a discount on a current-gen Apple device is an almost impossible task wherever you care to look, and although you can often save a couple of bucks if you buy, say, a gift voucher of equal value to the amount off the usual retail price, Best Buy will be offering a no-strings $50 off all Apple iPhones from Sunday. So if you’ve been contemplating either the iPhone 5c or flagship iPhone 5s, you’ll want to be heading over to Best Buy on February 16th, which is this coming Sunday.
Not only are Apple-branded devices seldom reduced by a noteworthy enough margin to justify going out and making the purchase, but the iPhone, in particular, is known for its inelastic price point.
Best Buy, however, is shaking things up, and as well as lowering the cost of the industry’s most popular high-end handset in the 5s, is also offering some handsome savings on a bunch of other great devices.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3, for example – the latest from a product line that is certainly challenging the Galaxy S range for the coveted status as “flagship,” will be available for $199, and even though, at five months old, it’s becoming a bit of a relic in smartphone terms, it still packs a mean list of tech specs. With a 5.7-inch full-HD display, it has become the weapon of choice for many power users of the Android persuasion, and for $199 on-contract as opposed to the usual $299, looks like a good bargain.
If you have your eyes on the slick, Touch ID-enabled iPhone 5s, though, then you can have your fill for just $150, compared to the usual $200. The colorful 5c, meanwhile, will run at $100 for the duration of this special offer, which ends on Saturday, February 22nd.
Even though the iPhone 5 isn’t sold officially through Apple any more (the iPhone 4s provides the third option) Best Buy still has plenty of stock leftover it would seem, and as such, will be offering the handset free of charge with the same two-year contract.
Considering how the iPhone 5c is, to all intents and purposes, a rehoused and rebranded iPhone 5, the older model is arguably the best deal on the table, but if the allure of the iPhone 5s is just too much, then be sure to take a trip down to Best Buy this weekend.
