Four Unreleased iPhones Appear In tvOS 17

Apple is getting ready to announce new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models as soon as next month and now a new report appears to show that all four phones have popped up in the tvOS 17 beta.

Apple is in the middle of its tvOS 17 beta program and it’s now been noted that the latest beta release removes references to four new iPhones, none of which currently exist. It turns out that the unannounced iPhones have been present since the initial tvOS 17 beta but were not noticed until now.

The four new iPhones are listed as iPhone15,4, iPhone15,5, iPhone16,1, iPhone16,2 and are likely to be the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max respectively.

It’s also thought that the names suggest what chips will be used in the new iPhones, too. 9to5Mac suggests that the new model numbers confirm the arrival of the A17 chip, for example.

So because the ‌iPhone 15‌ and 15 Plus will get the A16 chip already used in the 14 Pro and Pro Max, the 15,4 and 15,5 likely reference these two devices. 16,1 and 16,2 will be the first iPhones with a new chip, aka the rumored A17, so these model numbers likely refer to the ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ and ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ Max.

Apple is expected to announce the new iPhones during an event on September 12 before they  go on sale ten days later on September 22.
