Forward All iPhone Notifications To Google Glass With ‘PostOffice’ For iOS

GoogleGlass(1)

Google has already released a MyGlass Companion app for Android, and although a corresponding iOS version has yet to manifest itself over at the iOS App Store, the Big G has already noted that iPhone users will not be neglected when it comes to the early 2014 consumer launch of Glass. In the meantime, the PostOffice tweak will work just fine for those with jailbroken iPhones, and although there's not much to it aside from one or two settings, it does what it purports to do in pushing notifications through Glass.

Once you've downloaded the free tweak, which is available via the BigBoss repository in Cydia, you will need to jump to your native Settings app if you want to configure the way your notifications are re-routed to Glass.

With support for iOS likely to be a step behind Android, it's good to see that, thanks to the jailbreak community, iPhone users with that dev mentality will be able to have quite a bit of fun with Glass once it eventually does become available to consumers.

Google has indicated that Glass will become available early next year, although this could naturally be subject to delays. On price, you're going to be looking upward of one thousand bucks, so start saving up!

Google Glass may only be in the hands of developers, creative individuals and one or two competition winners, but that hasn’t prevented the world of tech from getting itself excited about the search giant’s wearable tech. Last month, we saw one such creative, Adam Bell, had managed to route iOS notifications through to Glass using a contraption he’d thrown together, and now, a tweak has emerged offering a simpler way for such a process to be achieved. More details and where to download from, can be found right after the break.

One of the most exciting things about Glass is that, since it’s based on Android, its hacking potential is huge, and although we’re likely to be treated to some groundbreaking and fascinating apps, the things that could be achieved when devs work "under the hood" is something that cannot be underestimated.
