You don’t have to be a tech guru or gaming maestro to understand and accept that Fortnite is one of the hottest digital properties on the market right now. The Epic Games phenomena has pulled in more than $1 billion globally since its release on mobile, and now, with version 5.10 rolling out, it looks as though that financial number could rise.
For those Fortnite gamers who love nothing more than utter devastation – which, in all honesty, should be everyone given the nature of the game – version 5.10 introduces a brand new compact submachine gun which was teased and promised prior to this release actually going into production.
This is the third SMG which has been added into the Fortnite world in the last few months and will definitely delight those who like a decent and comprehensive set of weapons to choose from. This should definitely start to mix up a gamer’s ability to hand themselves in close quarters combat.
Along with that initial SMG tease, Epic had also teased the fact that Slurp Juice would become more important with a future update. Update 5.10 is that update. Consuming that new Slurp Juice will now add 1 health point for every 0.5 seconds up to a total of 75 points. If you have a full health, then your shield will be appended by up to 75 points instead. Epic has also used version 5.10 to reintroduce the Playground mode which comes with squad battles and continuous matches which aren’t cut prematurely short in one person cuts off or jumps ship.
It’s also Fortnite’s first year birthday which brings with it its own celebrations. If you manage to push out 1,000 damage to opponents then you shall be rewarded with a Fortnite Birthday emoticon. If you manage to play 14 matches then you shall receive 5,000 XP, and there are even rewards in place if you manage to complete all of the birthday celebration challenges. And, if you are playing on mobile, then you’re going to get new buttons available in the HUD layout as well as the ability to download patches in the background while you flick in and out of other installed apps.
For those who are avid Fortnite gamers, make sure that you grab the latest build, right now! As for the complete patch notes, you can check those out below.
