Those who have ever used an iPad, we are quite sure you are aware of the amazing reader called Flipboard. But the only gripe we had against the said app is; it was only available for the iPad, up till now.
Today, Flipboard team has finally announced the iPhone version of their famous reader app. Here’s what’s new:
New iPhone edition puts the power of Flipboard in your pocket.
Cover Stories for iPhone, a selection of interesting articles and photos being shared with you right now. And it gets smarter every time you use it. (Coming soon to iPad.)
Speed. Flip through pages as you would through a printed magazine, all with the flick of a thumb.
Flipboard Accounts:
– Sign into your Flipboard from either iPhone or iPad and get instant access to all your favorite content.
– Check out All Timelines. Flip through a single feed containing all articles and all photos being shared across all your social networks.
At this point you must be wondering, what makes Flipboard so different from the already available barrage of readers out there in the iTunes App Store? The answer is a dead simple; Flipboard is just awesome.
The presentation of news on Flipboard is nothing short of amazing. It presents your RSS, Facebook or Twitter feeds in a beautiful magazine style view which you can flip through your fingers in a very seamless manner.
The Flipboard for iPhone app is pretty much the same thing as its iPad counterpart except that it’s optimized to be used on the iPhone’s rather nimble screen size. Instead of swiping your index finger on your iPad’s screen, it’s time you put your thumb to swipe on your iPhone.
The only thing that separates the Flipboard for iPad app from the iPhone one is ‘Cover Stories’. What Cover Stories basically does is; it picks up all your interesting bits of news and stories from your feeds and places them in one place so you can quickly go through them without going through the hassle of ‘flipping’ through pages.
Cover Stories at the moment is exclusive to iPhone users, but the Flipboard team has promised that the said feature will land in the iPad version of the app very soon, therefore be on a look out for an update in the near future.
If you have Flipboard for iPad installed, now is the time to go ahead and make an account with Flipboard. The advantage? Signing in on your iPhone or any other iOS device with Flipboard installed will sync all your stories and feeds with the exact same set up! How cool is that?
So, what are you waiting for? It’s strongly advised that you give you Flipboard for iPhone a shot and start flipping through your social and news feeds in an eye-candy fashion.
