If you have been jailbreaking your device with Electra version 1.0.2, and have been extremely frustrated by the lack of Cydia after the process claims to be complete, then worry not as you are certainly not alone.
The steps below will show you how you can fix this issue.
The process involves entirely removing the Electra jailbreak from your device the correct way using an uninstall script. Once complete, you will then need to go through the jailbreak process again.
Requirements:
- You are going to need to remove all tweaks and themes that have been installed on the device, including Substitute which comes pre-installed with Electra.
- If you have made any file changes to the root of your device using an app like Filza File Manager, then you will need to revert these.
- If you have used FutureRestore to get on to a particular iOS 11 version in order to jailbreak, then do NOT use this method.
- You will need to have Cyberduck – or similar – installed on your PC/Mac.
- If you are using Windows, then you will need something like PuTTY.
- You will also need to have the Delectra uninstaller script, which you can download for free from here.
Step 1: Launch Cyberduck on your machine and select the Open Connection option. Make sure SFTP is selected. Add the IP address of your device into the Server field.
Step 2: In the username, type root, and the default password will be alpine. Add these into Cyberduck in the provided fields and then click Connect.
Step 3: Select Allow on the next pop-up to create a root connection to your device. Take the Unjailbreak.sh file/script out of the Delectra folder and drag it into the root of the device’s file system using Cyberduck. Once again, select Allow.
Step 4: Exit out of Cyberduck. Launch PuTTY if on Windows and enter the IP address as the Host Name. Make sure the connection type is set to SSH, and then select Open. If a warning appears, make sure to select Yes before adding the credentials once again log in (root/alpine). If on Mac, simply use Terminal to SSH into the device.
Step 5: You will now have root access via SSH. Type the following command: bash ./unjailbreak.sh and press Enter.
Step 6: That’s it! The command line interface will give you access to a set of information about the script. Select Enter to confirm the execution of the script. The device will potentially reboot and respring before coming back to life with a stock version of iOS with the jailbreak entirely removed.
Step 7: Put your device back into clean state by doing a hard reset from: Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
Step 8: With Electra jailbreak now entirely removed and device back into stock state, download the latest Electra 1.0.2 and then jailbreak again. You can follow our guide here on how to jailbreak the right way: How To Jailbreak iOS 11.1.2 Using Electra With Cydia [Tutorial].
With this clean start, you will hopefully have jailbreak working fully now, complete with Cydia installed and working on the device! Enjoy your jailbreak!
