There is no denying that music plays an extremely important part in a lot of people’s lives and is something that is only made better and enhanced by the fact that most of us carry around a mobile smartphone in our pockets that is capable to playing music wherever we are. The iOS App Store is already home to a large number of music based applications, but for those that are a little tired of listening to the same playlist on their device or continuously skipping between the same few tracks then the Figure universal iOS app could provide the perfect solution.
Figure is a music-orientated application that has been designed with mobile devices like the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch in mind. The feature set and list of functionality wouldn’t look out of place in a full-featured piece of desktop software but instead the developers have managed to pack the goodness into a bite-sized app that offers a fun, unique and inspiring way to create almost instant music. Users should be able to download, open the app and start creating the next big tune within minutes of actually purchasing the app.
The bass, drums and lead synth are all present in the app and are controlled through a simple but expertly crafted interface that immediately lends itself to familiarity and doesn’t confuse. In its simplest form the app can be used by sliding a finger across the play area on the screen, with music creators not being required to have any previous musical experience to get up and running with the app. All sounds and tones can be tweaked relatively easily to allow the created sample to be amended to perfection and the app really does seem to have enough longevity in it to keep even the fussiest frustrated musician happy.
The latest update to Figure bring the always appreciated support for the larger display of the iPhone 5 and the new iPod touch as well as allowing users to totally clear the stored track with a single button press. At $0.99 it seems to return an awful lot of musical based fun for very little outlay.
