Version 5.0 of Evernote has just been released to the App Store for those toting an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, and if you’re anxious to hear the full round up of new features, you can catch all of the details after the jump!
Free to download, Evornote has always been one of the most powerful note-taking apps on offer for mobile devices. Despite there existing a deluge of apps purporting to offer an A+ experience when it comes to jotting down thoughts, prompts, and general notation, Evernote has always been seen as one of the best, and with a huge list of handy premium features, many consumers find themselves happy to pay a subscription for what is a very complete service.
When the main version number changes with any app update, it’s always a cause for excitement, and Evernote has not let us down. In version 5.0, the home screen has been dramatically improved to offer quicker access to notes, notebooks, tags, places, and of course, those premium features. The note list itself has also been aesthetically enhanced, with a new card-style implementation added in order to really showcase note content.
Among a plethora of other little alterations and tweaks, users now have the ability to swiftly create new notebooks directly from the notebooks list, which not only saves time, but is more logical from a navigation point of view. The unified shared notebook is also a new feature (and personal highlight) of Evernote 5.0, which not only shows your notebooks, but also those shared with you, so if you’re a part of a note-taking collaboration, Evernote’s intuitive new features will make things just that little it easer.
For those rocking the iPad, there’s now additional notebook stack support in notebooks view, and you can check out your recently viewed, edited and created notes straight from the home screen, so multi-tasking is easy as pie.
