Elon Musk’s X Will Become The Fabled ‘Everything App’ Later This Year, CEO Claims

Back when Elon Musk bought X what feels like a decade ago he made a big thing about wanting to create the “everything app.” Such an app brings multiple features and businesses under one roof in a way similar to China’s WeChat. Now, X CEO Linda Yaccarino has put a timeline on the plans.

In a post on X Yaccarino confirmed that the company will use Visa as its first finance partner which will allow people to add funds to their X Wallet and then make and receive payments with others.

However, there is no suggestion that X Wallet will work with other companies which means it won’t replace Apple Pay or similar digital wallets. At least, not yet.

“Another milestone for the Everything App: @Visa is our first partner for the @XMoney Account, which will debut later this year,” the CEO said.

She went on to say that instant and secure funding will be joined by the ability to connect a debit card as well as the option to instantly transfer money to a bank account. Yaccarino went on to add that we can expect “many big announcements about X Money this year.”

This is all similar to the aforementioned WeChat, an app that offers instant messaging as well as the option to track fitness, make and receive payments, book health appointments, and more. Whether or not X will follow the same path remains to be seen, but X Wallet is definitely a step in the right direction.
